The Western Australian Shipbuilders Association Inc represents most of the large ship and boat builders in Western Australia along with ship repairers, shipbuilders service providers, shipbuilding materials, marine training, marine engine suppliers and numerous suppliers of marine materials and services Some of the members have in house ship and boat design services and cater for a full range of vessels including ferries, car and passenger, work boats, defense vessels, motor yachts, motor yacht tenders, patrol boats, barges, tugs, leisure craft and yachts. Materials used include steel, aluminium and glass fibre composites. WA builds approximately 70% of all Australian Shipbuilding.
